Purchasing my own domain name.

If I use the free version of the Wix website to host my site, my domain name will use part of my email address which will give me the following address.

rmeftah.wix.com/photography

This isn't too long-winded compared to some free website hosts that I have seen in the past.

However, in terms of appearing as professional as possible, I would like to purchase my own domain name.

I am luck in this respect as I have a very rare surname so getting the correct domain name should be fairly easy as it may not be taken.

My ideal domain name would be richardmeftah.com

I have checked to see if this is available via the Wix website and it is available !

It will cost £15.53 per year for my domain name.

In order to attach a domain name to my Wix website, I need to upgrade it from the free version.

This will cost me £6.68 per month if I pay on a monthly basis or an average of £7.76 a month if I pay yearly.

There are small adverts on the free version of the Wix site and these are removed with the upgraded version.

This fee also includes google analytics to monitor traffic to my website, and the ability to use my own domain name.

I am going to try a months subscription and see how it works.

I have now purchased the domain name that I have always wanted richardmeftah.com.

I have also now upgraded my website to the premium version which allows me to use my own domain name.
